Pregnancy update - 6 months

How far along:
6 months, 24 weeks, 168 days.

3 months to go!

Symptoms:
Extreme hunger, better skin, acid reflux, bloating, little itches, little aches, sore boobs and one cankle - occasionally.

Food Cravings:
Carbs, cheese, hot milk and chocolate.

Movement:
Lots of shuttle kicks, some stronger than others. Baby enjoys eating, socialising and heavy music as much as me it seems - the kicks start drumming when I'm munching, talking to people or listening to strong bass.

Gender:
It's still a secret

Sleep:
Is heavy. Having lots of  disturbing dreams and back ache. Some nights I'm restless, twitchy and itchy or I can't get comfortable amongst the various pillows we have piled up on our bed. I miss sleeping on my front.

Stretch Marks:
Still haven't found any, still expecting them to come later on.

Miss Anything:
Jeans.
I am surviving on leggings and dungarees at the moment as I can't find any maternity jeans that fit.

Best Moment:
M feeling baby kick for the first time. We were cuddling up in bed after a long day and I'd tell him when baby kicked, until he felt them on his own. I had butterfly's in my tummy and that rush of love for my little family. It was a special moment I'll cherish forever.

Worst Moment:
No catastrophic incidents to report, thankfully. Just lots of little tantrums about my limited wardrobe, my new hair, lack of spending money, people being self centred, not respecting M and I and our wishes. Slowly we're learning how to stick together through these things and M's patience with clothes, and my hair, is becoming enormously tolerant.

Looking forward to:
Walking our little dogs with our little baby on a sunny spring day and Sunday morning cuddles in bed with baby and M. Most of all the gender reveal and our baby shower.

Baby Shopping:

M and I have a shopping list of things to buy for baby. It's so exciting! We've been collecting bits as we go. Like some clothes, a nappy bin (£5 on sale!), an arm chair, a pillow, muslin cloths, pram suits, a hooded towel.. but that doesn't even come close to the bits we're hoping to get, and the stuff we need, over the next few months.

We've picked out a 3 piece nursery set from Mamas and Papas, we think we know which pram we want, including the car seat, plus the baby carrier and baby bath. Then the moses basket, baby monitor, breast bump, bottles, mobile, curtains, sheets, blankets and play mat have yet to be shortlisted. The list goes on for eternity.

We're going for neutral tones - lots of white, grey, beige, baby blue, blush pink and pastel shades. The theme will be focused on nature and all things wild. Lots of animals, world maps, arrows, feathers, stars and clouds. I absolutely can't wait for it to come together and for my nesting urge to really kick in (although I think it already has).

Pregnancy Comebacks:

I'm subscribed to weekly pregnancy email updates from all sorts of websites, they're all great in their own ways but 'Pregnant Chicken' definitely come out on top when it comes to making me smile, and sometimes I actually laugh..!

In today's update they mentioned their 'Clever Pregnancy Comebacks' series. It throws back to the subject I talked about last week, what not to ask a pregnant woman. Both M and I love their replies to the silly things people say - definitely worth a read if you ever feel overwhelmed by it all, or ever need some clever replies.
