Korn - The Path Of Totality

Recently, a group of mad scientists stepped into their laboratory of a studio to produce and batter a whole new genre of music.
The second single has been unveiled from Korn’s upcoming album, ‘The Path Of Totality’, which is set for an early December release. It’s a highly anticipated album, which could revolutionise the music industry.
The Nu Metal pioneers are mixing dubstep and metal together into a sonic new sound. The album features all sorts of buzz from the electronic genre, including the dubstep artists Noisia.
Nu Metal + Dubstep, It’s a pretty simple equation which has never been made into a worthy mix. Before now Korn released ‘Get Up’ back in May, which featured Skrillex. Setting a high bar for the album, the track is an interesting fusion of Jonathan Davis’ haunting vocal chords and Sonny Moore’s ‘wobs’ and ‘squeaks’.
Less dramatic but with more guitar depth, new release ‘Narcissistic Cannibal’ follows the similar style of ‘Get Up’ revealing the potential theme of the new album.
Unlike most dubstep tracks, they both have a song structure, taking the best elements from both worlds.
The backing electronics, the chords and the vocals crave equal importance, which means this whole venture could have been dangerous. The dubstep could have drowned the vocals and the guitars could have been lost in the haze of it all. Luckily, everything was measured just right and it works in a tremendous mechanical fashion.
Korn create an atmospheric impact with their music. Heavy riffs, sexy rasping vocals, a raging musical professor prancing around in a kilt… They make an impression unlike any other band in the metal scene. Skrillex, a dude that’s taking over the world with his catchy compilations of balloon squeaking, beeps and wobs, which helplessly convert you into a dubstep fan.
A couple of the best inventors in the industry, it was inevitable that this experiment would be a success.
