The Beach

The infinite horizon - that's why I love the beach. The blocks of colour - shades of blue, white and grey, the soundtrack of the tide, the sparkling seawater, the fizz of the sea foam, the edge, the freedom. Is there anywhere better?

We chucked a bottle of sun cream and the buggy in our car, drove half an hour down country roads - avoiding the swarms of people running away to the beach too and found a good spot to sit, people watch and drink coffee (we got some pretty enormous scones too... couldn't resist)

The sun was blazing and the air was hot, with a minimal sea breeze. We love to show Arlo new places, let him take in his new surroundings and touch new different textures. It was bright - the pebbles and the water reflected white beams of light, so he was happiest when we took him down to the sea and walked along the seashore, exploring.

The beach is possibly my favourite place to be. The tranquil peace that shadows any worries in your mind and highlights your dreams.

Down by the waters edge, where the tide gently folded in and out the beach, we let Arlo sink his tiny little toes into the seawater and the soft sand.

It's these moments I won't forget. The first time Arlo touched the sea and sand, dazzling sun and my darling family. The weekends that stretch on and make me thankful and wishful for more days like these.
