Pride, power and melody, Bury tomorrow
hurtle towards you like a speeding freight train and you find yourself glued to
the tracks.
Originating from Southampton UK, the 5
piece are a fabulous example of the sharp hardcore music that is budding within
the alternative British scene these days. They touch on the melodic vs. death metal
spectrum.
Introducing Jason Cameron, Dani Winter-
Bates, Davyd Winter-Bates and Adam Jackson alongside their new guitarist
Kristan Dawson (old guitarist Mehdi Vismara is on the record)
Their major downfall and inexcusable fault
is that they follow the fashion of modern day metalcore by filling their tracks
with excessive padding. Chug chug chugging along.
Per contra, within the typical pattern of
their tracks, Winter-Bates’ dominant muddy growl competes with Cameron’s sparkling
singing and they mingle together with opposite attractions.
Overall, their
vocals flex with ease and matched with the chunky instrumentals the chemistry
of their sound gives you goose bumps and lots of jolted head banging.
Bury Tomorrow are rumored to be recording a
new album soon, like at the end of this year soon. Although it is highly
anticipated, it took 3 years to release their latest portfolio. So don’t hold
your breath, your lungs might explode.
