May I introduce Hullabaloo to those of you who
haven't been graced with their music yet.
Let me give you the lowdown. Good looking and fresh to the Cardiff music scene,
they play feel good jazzy blues with a rustic edge. Hullabaloo consists of
guitars, bass, keyboard, drums and a brass ensemble, giving them THAT unique
angle most of us are craving.
Their tracks consist of indie blues riffs and
catchy brass lines smothered with bold friendly vocals. Their catchy tracks
Landslide, Found A New Way and Do You Think I’m Crazy Enough? Will be glued
into your head. Their live cover of Rolling Stones ‘I can’t get no satisfaction’
is particularly great too. Imagine the soundtrack to a reunion of loved ones,
friends and a lot of beer.
I first saw these guys at their shining debut
at Cardiff Universities ‘Battle of the Bands’, since then they have progressed
their quality to impressionable levels of musicianship as if they have
fermented into their own mature signature.
Their gigs are alive and they always successfully
manage to rev up the crowd to dance and sing along. I’ve witnessed the
floorboards to bounce with such energy before as a result of impressive amounts
of audience reception.
I definitely recommend catching a gig when you
are next out getting jolly with your pals. Expect lots of clapping, jigging,
big fat smiles and a thirst for more. If a smooth blend of rock and roll and
jazz is your cup of tea it will start your night off with a shebang.
